Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My beautiful sister Liz Howell passed away in December last year of complications arising from her battle, that we all fully expected she would win, against Hodgkin's Disease. During her time battling cancer, I know she enjoyed art classes and benefited from therapy at The Rowan Tree and our family continue to benefit from them. It's a great, small charity that helps those in Rhondda Cynon Taf area of South Wales that are affected by cancer.
For some reason (no doubt to keep me fit and pretend I am still young), back in April, when spring was emerging and the sun was shining, I decided to set myself the goal of completing the Dart 10k - run by the Outdoor Swimming Society, it involves swimming 10 kilometres down the river Dart from Totnes to Dittisham. Such a feat seemed achievable back then - but now, with six weeks to go, it's looking more daunting. I've been training in London docks which is all very nice when the sun is shining but less pleasant when it's grey and wet!
So, please donate whatever you can to this great little charity and give me a little motivation to get in the water - it'll help to know that I'm raising money that will be put to great use and that we do it in memory of Liz.
