Story
So far this year 12 homeless people have died on the streets of Brighton - please help me stop there from being any more.
Each year people die on the streets of Brighton & Hove - FOR NO GOOD REASON - except they have nowhere to live. It's only a lack of money that means they don't have the live-preserving food and shelter that they so desperately need.
That's why I'm taking part in Off the Fence's Big Sleep Out. I only have to spend one night facing the prospects of freezing temperatures, rain or snow – those without a home face the destructive effects of long-term exposure, malnutrition, lack of hygiene, medical care or even murder!
That's why your sponsorship will make such a difference. As little as £10 can provide a sleeping bag, hat gloves socks and a hot drink, which could mean the difference in making it through the night.
But more than that, knowing that someone cares about them can give hope to even the most desperate. Homelessness means more than just nowhere to sleep. It means lonely, vulnerable, afraid, despairing.
Please sponsor me and help me give love and hope to those who think that only the streets care about them.
I'd like to raise £800 which could buy 100 sleeping bags or the vital warm clothing, food and drink that make a life-saving difference. If each one of my friends gives just £10 I'll smash my target – together we can a transformational difference in Brighton this year. Thank you so much.
