Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
After deliberating for sometime one of us decided to try and get our old team back together for a bit of a reunion and a one off football match. Everyone seemed keen and plans started to get this reunion arranged. On making contact with our old skipper Matt Keogh we were saddened to hear that his Dad and our manager, Pete, had suffered ill health in the past few years. Pete was to many of us a father figure, someone who dedicated time and effort to us to make us better people and give us something to look forward to every weekend, in the form of training and matches. As we got older Pete continued to guide us and we all strived to get that pat on the back for a good pass, tackle or goal. An, "Ello mate" from Pete was always warmly received and I'd like to think he was as proud of us as we were to have him as our coach, manager & friend. So when we heard Pete had suffered from a stroke it didn't take any time at all for us to decide that as part of our reunion we would like to raise money for a charity that was close to Pete. Success After Strokes is a charity that is focused on helping with support and rehabilitation of those who have suffered strokes, and is a charity that is helping Pete with his recovery.
As such any donations to our page would be greatly received. If any of you want to join us on 29th April at Blackhouse Lane, Cornard, at 7pm, for a bit of a catch up after all these years and to offer your support, then that too will be greatly appreciated.
