Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So here is my story so far.....
Having done ten half marathons, a few tough tens I decided to run my first full marathon at the ripe old age of 43. On October 25th 2015 I completed the Bristol - Bath marathon. So.....I am hooked and it's also a fantastic way of raising much needed funds for amazing charities.
I contacted the lovely people Weston Hospicecare and they said "why don't you come and run for us in the 2016 London Marathon"
So here I am, training through the winter...over Christmas in order to hit the sights of London on April 24th 2016.
Having been given the privilege of visiting Weston Hospicecare and being given a tour of the facility and an insight into the work they do, all I can say is it is both humbling and a great privilege to be representing them in the London Marathon.
It costs £3m per year to provide the in house and field care for patients and families dealing with the crippling and debilitating illnesses of cancer and motor neurons disease.
Please spare a thought for the families that are having to deal with these illnesses and the support they need is paramount.
Which, is why I ask you, having read this to support me in my quest to raise £3k for the charity.
I will be holding a fundraising dinner early 2016 which, I hope you will support me in...details to follow.
In the meantime, primarily, please spare a thought and then give a donation for me running the London Marathon.
Thanks
Andrew
