Story
I entered, or rather I should say I was entered for, my first triathlon by my gorgeous wife as an anniversary gift after our first year of marriage. Whilst not the most traditional of anniversary gifts, I just about managed to survive with a few tales to tell and thankfully so did our marriage. Although during the triathlon I did wonder, about whether I would survive of course.
This year I've been told to up my game and get serious, in relation to my sporting achievements (I hope). And have entered the London Marathon on Sunday 24th of April 2016. As most of you will know I'm extremely competitive and whilst winning the race is sadly unlikely (not for a lack of trying on my part!) I'll certainly try my hardest to finish in a respectable time.
I'm running for the British Forces Foundation, who provide entertainment for our boys and girls serving in the armed forces. Our armed forces serve with immense professionalism in the most challenging environments across the world. Working under pressure for months at a time, thousands of miles from home and often witnessing traumatic events, place a unique strain on individuals that can ultimately affect both them and their loved ones, for years.
The British Forces Foundation aims to maintain the morale of those men and women by providing entertainment and I very much hope you might be able to support them by sponsoring me for the London marathon. Your support, large or small, in reaching my fundraising target will be greatly appreciated.

May I take this opportunity to thank you so very much for helping me on this journey, not just the 26 miles and 385 yards on the day, but for motivating me to up my game and get through the months of training required before. Thank you.
With best regards,
Andrew
