Story

TEXT RBOW90 £5 to 70070 to donate!

Myself and Andrews brothers Chris, Liam and Jamie will be taking part in a sponsored Firewalk in Kinross on Saturday 13th September to mark the 24th anniversary of Andrews death.  We want to make some (rather hot) steps to continue to make a difference to the many families who are also living with the devastation of losing a child or brother or sister.

We want to raise as much money as possible which will help the Scottish Cot Death Trust support families who go on to have another child after the loss of their son or daughter!

Please show your support - thank you!!!

About Andrews Rainbow...

Following on from the successful launch of Rory's Star, the Trust is hoping to raise funds to  develop a second children's book. The book, Andrew's Rainbow, will be for children who are growing up never having known their brother or sister.

Rory's Star focused on the children that shared the loss of their brother or sister, whilst Andrew's Rainbow will be written to help support those who came after; and all the questions that come with this.

The success of Rory's Star lay in using child friendly words and images to which families could relate to their own experience.  This offers  the opportunity for discussion and questions that the child may have. The families who have used this book have commented on its ability to help them support their child and their understanding as it changes over time.

Children born after the death of a sibling grow up with a brother or sister in their family that they will never know.  Families are left with having to explain that they had another brother or sister who sadly died.  This book will hopefully help parents encourage their children to talk about something that is very difficult.
