Story
Hello, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’ve set myself the challenge of completing Europe’s toughest long distance trek and to raise some money for an important charity. I plan to start the challenge around mid-June 2016.
Corsica’s GR20 is regarded as Europe’s toughest long distance trek. The trek crosses Corsica and is broken into 16 stages. Depending on the route taken, it covers approximately 190 km / 118 miles with 15,000 meters / 49,000 feet of ascent, walking, climbing and scrambling over rough terrain. I will be solo during the trek and will carry the equipment required to camp out each night. The recommended duration for the trek is 14 days, depending on weather, I hope to complete it in less than 14 days.
My chosen charity is Mountain Rescue, with the money raised going to Kinder Mountain Rescue Team, they are a volunteer search and rescue team based in The Peak District. The members are volunteers who are on call 24/7, 365 days a year to assist members of the public on the hills or in urban search and rescue situations. They are almost exclusively funded by public donations, and all proceeds from fund raising go towards equipment and resources used on the Mountain Rescue call outs.
So please give what you can for this charity via my page, dig deep and donate now. All the money raised will go direct to the charity.
Thanks in advance for your help and support.
