Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
February 2016 i will have been officially living with Relapsing Remitting MS for two years. It has been a real life changer for me, even though i know that there are people who are suffering with MS to a much greater degree then i am, i have found the support i have received from the MS Chilterns centre to be of great help. I have taken advantage of their Open Gym, of their amazing physiotherapists, reflexologists and I am currently on an Aqua Therapy course. I hope to take advantage of their Oxygen Tank Treatments and I'm going to be referred for their Pilates and Tai Chi course.
Since starting with them during the course of the last year i am beginning to improve my levels of physicality, Saturday 5th December i was able to take part in a 3 hour swede rolling marathon round the village and today i discovered i was able to swim for 30 minutes without a break, i would not have been able to do this 6 months ago.
The Chilterns MS Centre is reliant totally on donations and fund raising, they are not a NHS service and so I am asking you if you could donate some money to a great cause, not just to support me, but to support MS sufferers from Bucks, Herts and Beds.
Marta has asked if she could do a swimming challenge as she has seen me 'in action' at the centre and I have chosen to join her, swimming 1km of our local pool without a break. This will take place on Saturday 5th March and I really hope you could sponsor Marta to try and raise £500 for a really great cause.
Many many thanks for your donation, no matter the amount, it will mean a great deal to me.
I would also like to thank Stephen Burnett, Leisure Manager at Horwood House who has very kindly offered the use of the swimming pool and Principal Hayley who run Horwood House.
