We support children suffering from cancer to improve their life chances

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In August 2012 we're hosting a number of children from Belarus who are in remission from various forms of Cancer all of which are linked to the Chernobly nuclear disaster in 1986. While the disaster is to many a distant memory, the effects are still impacting many areas today in particular Belarus which bore the brunt of the original contamination due to wind direction on the day the plant exploded.

The children who visit range from 8 to 12. By coming to the UK for a month experts believe it increases there immune system by upto two years which helps them to resist or recover from serious illnesses.

Of course in order to host the children along with a doctor and interpreter we need to raise the required funding. As such I've taken the decision to undertake a 67 mile bike ride on the 29th April known as the Midland Monster - no mean feat given most of my time spent on a bike was around 25 years ago !

So I'd really appreciate your support in sponsoring me in this challenge in aid of Chernobyl Childrens Project.
