Story
The news about migrants perishing in the Mediterranean and elsewhere has shocked all of us. I cannot start to imagine what it must be like for victims to watch helplessly as loved ones drown or are turned back because of lack of the 'right' document when escaping torment in their own country.
On our own we may not be able to do much as I'm sure life feels like an obstacle race at times. However, if we all do a little bit, we might just make the life of others more bearable. It seems that Migrant Help UK are doing just that: http://www.migranthelpuk.org
On a personal note, I am happily married, love living in the UK on Ancestry Rights and have been teaching MFL, English and the Humanities for the past 35 years. I teach in both outstanding schools as well as challenging institutions and am privy to a myriad of social issues. My poems reflect the latter but also serve to acknowledge the beauty of nature and the delight of living. I pledge to post enough poems on this site for you to be able to read one every Sunday for the next two years. You may wish to keep them as resources to teach from, discuss or simply enjoy.
Every donation is appreciated and goes straight to the charity from this site making it easy for you and me.
Thanking you from the heart,
Angie Andrews
