Angelo was born on Friday the 19th August 2011 at 2:42pm along with his twin brother Louis at St Mary's hospital in Manchester. He weighed 4lb 12oz. He was born with a heart condition and after a failed procedure he was transferred to Alder Hey Children's hospital in Liverpool on the evening of his birth, which separated him from his mother and twin brother. As his father I followed him there to be by his side until 10 days later when his brother was discharged and we were reunited as a family.

Ronald McDonald house is a voluntarily run and funded building located on the hospital site, this is where we were able to live with our newborn baby Louis whilst being with Angelo every day. If Ronald McDonald house wasn't there then we don't know how we would have coped with travelling from Manchester or even a hotel. They provided us with clean, comfortable accomodation and surprisingly it was all free. Anyone who has children will understand not only the worry of seeing your child unwell but also how scared children can be without their parents near to them. Living on site means that parents can be at their child's bedside at any time of the day or night. Hundreds of other families rely on the support of Ronald McDonald house with some spending months there whilst their children are critically ill.

Angelo spent four weeks on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and sadly on 16th September 2011 he passed away. Nothing will bring our beautiful baby back but we want his memory to live on forever and for him to never be forgotten.

In memory of Angelo an 8 strong team are undertaking the 3 peak challenge on the 9th June 2012 whereby we will climb the 3 highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales all in a 24 hour period. The people participating are:

Stelios Kattou, Andreas Kattou, Evanthia Kattou, Katerina Stylianou, Stella Kattou, Leo Kattou, Antony Apostolou and Arronn Morris

Thank you all for wanting to take part in what is truly an honourable cause. The money we raise will help future families be that that bit closer to their dearly loved babies and children whilst they're in need of critical care.

Being situated on site in a Ronald McDonald house meant that we were able to spend precious time with our beautiful Angelo. It also meant that Louis could hold his brother's hand and that our families could share valuable time with him during all hours of the day.

All donations no matter how big or small will be truly appreciated.
