Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Several years ago, I started doing a little volunteer work for the Glasgow Children's Holiday Scheme - helping to clean their holiday caravans at the start and end of each season - and continue to do that to this day. They use the caravans to provide a break for children and their families living within the Greater Glasgow area who, for one reason or another, are disadvantaged or socially excluded. For many of these children and families, it is the only holiday or break that they get - you can read more about the great work this small charity does on their website here:

http://www.glasgowchildrensholidayscheme.org.uk/

They are solely reliant on donations and grants and being  a small charity, it is hard for them to get the funding and support like some of the larger charities, so I wanted to help with their fundraising. That is why I am taking part in the 3 Pistes Cycle Challenge on the 29th May this year - it is the highest cycling challenge in the UK , covering 102 miles in one day across the Scottish Highlands. You can read more about the challenge here:

This is my 3rd year taking part in the event. The first year, the weather was perfect and it took me 8hrs. Last year, the weather was horrendous - 40mph winds with a bit of sleet and snow thrown in for good measure - and it took me over 9hrs 37mins, so I'm hoping the weather is more like the first year this year.

If you think what I'm doing is worthy of a wee donation, then please help me support the Glasgow Children's Holiday Scheme so that they can continue the great work they do helping others more disadvantaged than ourselves.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted e-mails.
