Story
Gosia is planning on running 10km in the Greater Manchester Run on the 22nd of May in remembrance of Ania for the CATS charity. Thank you to Maggie for such a brilliant effort and I hope that you all can support her and the fantastic charity, CATS.
--------
Our daughter Anna was born on the 15 of May 2011 via emergency C section after rather challenging and eventful pregnancy. She was beautiful, perfect and made us the happiest couple in the world.
At the age of 4 months she developed myoclonic epilepsy. This was a turning point in our lives and beginning of long stays in various hospitals around London. During the next few months we have learnt more than we ever wanted to about genetics, various antiepileptic medications, NG tubes, ketogenic diet, learning difficulties, developmental delays, special needs, physiotherapy, CPR and got friendly with several ambulance crews in South London.
On the 28 of February 2012 we had to be transferred from St Helier Hospital to Great Ormond Street Hospital after our little Anna had to be intubated and put on a life support machine after one of her seizures cannot be stopped even though all emergency medications were applied. This was the first time we have met and were looked after one of the CATS (Children’s Acute Transport Services) crews. They were absolutely amazing not only with our Daughter but also with us.
A month later in March 2012 we were transferred again from Kings College Hospital to the Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU) at The Evelina Children’s Hospital after Anna’s heart stopped for the first time. We have spent 3 months moving between Savannah Ward and PICU. Little did we know it would be the last hospital stay for us and our Anna.
Sadly we lost our precious Bubba at the age of 13 months and 2 days in June 2012.
Choosing a charity we would like to support in the memory of our Daughter wasn’t easy as every single member of staff we have met, during our short journey with Anna, was so caring and dedicated. We are extremely grateful to All of Them.
We would like to thank all our Friends and Family for supporting CATS in memory of out little Bubba.
So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you. Kasia & Duncan
