Thanks for taking the time to visit my page. Many of you already know I am currently fighting the big 'C'.

As well as personally my family and friends - especially my 81 yr old mum - have received great help from the team at Skipton on a practical and emotional level

I was diagnosed around Christmas last year after visiting the dr with what I thought was a sore throat.  Within a few days I learned that I had stage 4 cancer of the tonsils which had spread to the base of my tongue. After 3 months in St James Leeds for an agressive course of treatment(daily radiotherapy plus chemo) 

Am now home recovering. It will be a few months before I can have scans to see if the treatment has worked....fingers crossed cos I have 4 gorgeous granchildren I need to see grow up

The  centre continues to support me nd mine

Without continued funding the Centre could not operate and the services provided could no longer exist to support so many local people like us
