We support families affected by MSA to increase knowledge of this awful disease

Story

As many of you already know my dad, the wonderful and amazing Joe Harkin has been unwell for a few years now.  After several years of tests, last year we were given the devastating news that he is suffering from the very rare condition, Multiple System Atrophy, which currently has no cure.

As you can imagine this has had a huge impact on my family, especially Joe.  Dealing with the diagnosis has been difficult but finding out there is no cure has been the hardest thing to come to terms with.

Life is really too short and our focus now is to continue making memories and to enjoy each day we get to spend together with this amazing man.

Along with my friends Margaret Ann and Joe , we will be running the Half Marathon on the 2nd October to raise money to help fund research to find a cure for this illness, so hopefully another family will not have to go through this experience.
