Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. You will see I have entered the 100km Thamespath challenge on 10th/11th September. I am proud to be supporting the Millie Mittoo Children's Projects charity.
The purpose of the charity is to provide orphaned children in Pakistan with what I and likely many others took for granted growing up, the love and support of a home environment. The charity has ambitions to broaden the amazing work it started with its project Sofia House which opened in April 2009. Sofia House provides a home for female orphans in Islamabad, Pakistan. The girls living there are ensured an education, are provided with shelter and food all in a safe and loving environment.
I want to show my support for this cause as I would love to see the charity able to realise its ambition to provide more of the same to many more children. Children who would otherwise not have access to the most basic and fundamental opportunities to achieve happy and fulfilled lives.
So come rain or shine (the former probably more likely :-)) my dog Millie (yes, funny coincidence!) and I will gently trot off together from Putney Bridge for 10km where Millie will be collected and chauffeured back home to rest and recover for the rest of the weekend. I will continue in my earnest quest to "just make it to Henley"......
