Story

Helping animals where others have given up!.....

The Animal Healing Trust & Horse Rescue is a registered non profit based Charity based in the West Midlands co-founded and run by our awesome friend, Sue Gessey.

Their Intention.....is Happy Healthy Horses and to provide a loving safe home at their Sanctuary.

Their Commitment....is a Holistic Approach to support their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.

Sue was led to volunteer at a local Horse Rescue doing Reiki on the horses there, and on many other animals in the Midlands.  The Rescue closed down, however people continued to approach her to help or to rescue horses that others had given up on, which led her to start her Charity (officially) in 2008.  She and her fellow trustees and volunteers have since rescued many horses and ponies enabling them to be free, live in herds and have lots of love!

They have offered a home and boundless love to ex race horses, show jumpers, pets, horses from France, from an animal experiment laboratory, the wild, riding schools, even those destined for the slaughterhouse.  Horses that have been abused, ill-treated, depressed, starved and homeless.  Encouraged to live in herds, they look after each other, play, heal and love each other.

Please Support Them and Make a Difference!  Every donation will give these Horses care, food and Sanctuary.  Your donation will pay for:-

Food - Carrots, Bales of Hay

Supplements, Pain Relief, Vets fees, Winter Coats, Essentials such as Buckets or a Wheelbarrow!

Your donations will enable Sue & her wonderful team of volunteers to continue their AWESOME work providing Healing Sanctuary for these magnificent Living Beings!

Sunny (left in photo) was born with insufficient bones in his back legs which impacts on his movement.  Muffin was very poorly when he came.  Whilst he has now fully recovered, he still needs daily supplements to ensure his immune system stays strong and healthy.

About the charity

At The Animal Healing Trust we provide sanctuary for abused and abandoned horses and ponies and allow them a place to heal from whatever they have been through be it on any level, physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. We use natural remedies and therapies as much as possible and work with natural horsemanship techniques too. Plus we allow and encourage the horses to live as natural as possible within a mixed herd environment so they have the company of other horses to aid their recovery and build their confidence and self esteem. Kindness, respect and working together in partnership with the horses are our key ethics as well as providing a safe haven and giving a lot of love. We have been providing this sanctuary since 2008 and are delighted to have helped many horses and ponies who others had given up on. And we thank everyone who has helped us. Let's continue to spread kindness and love to these amazing animals who are often misunderstood.
