Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Guys n Gals, I started this by trying to ensure I got a place in the London marathon and have since stumbled across this Charity which do amazing things for Disadvantaged children. I have now got a really strong feeling of responsibility to support this charity beyond its initial target and they have responded by offering to support a local cause 'Keeleys Wishes' appeal once the minimum amount is reached. I will post more information about in the comments.

I have got 2 other colleagues from New Forest Care who are also doing the London Marathon amongst other events to raise money for these very worthy causes.

You guys can get us off to a positive start by donating, either clicking the link or texting 'NFCC99 £10' to 70070

Please look up the charity and Keeleys Wishes cause to learn about the great causes they will support.

Thank you in advance Freeze, Rich White and Alex Gooderham xx

About Phab
The first Phab project began in 1957, and for nearly 60 years the charity has encouraged and supported children and adults with and without disabilities to make more of life together.

Help the Phab kids team raising funds to support a network of clubs across England and Wales offering lots of great activities which members of all ages and abilities can share and enjoy together. There are Phab clubs in all age ranges from under 8’s to over 80’s right across England and Wales.

Help Phab Kids to provide much needed places on our unique Phabkids weeks for youngsters with a range of disabilities and complex needs, enabling them to experience and enjoy greater independence and freedom.

During 2014/15 Phab Kids are providing the opportunity for even more children and young people to attend than ever before. Over 160 children and young people aged 8 to 25, most of them with disabilities or disadvantaged in some way and many away from home for the first time, are taking part in our programme of nine challenging and fun residential projects at accessible outdoor activity centres around the country.

Their Integrated Living Experience and Skills for Independence projects help to build confidence, independence and self-esteem whilst breaking down barriers and building friendships, all through a range of fun and challenging activities. They make a big difference to the lives of the children and young people themselves but also to their families. This is what some of them have had to say:

“I couldn’t join in with the activities on my school’s residential and I had to watch my friends have fun which made me sad. At Phab I had a go at everything and I feel very proud at what I have done.” J aged 8.

“The best part was making so many new friends – I usually find this very difficult but with Phab it was easy!” L aged 12

“Our grand-daughter had such a great time at on the Phab Project. She is telling everyone who will listen about it - she came home buzzing. She enjoyed the activities and the freedom to be there without us looking over her shoulder. Sometimes it's hard not to be too protective, so being apart from us was also very good for her. She hasn't been able to take part in those types of activities before, and is looking forward to doing it all over again.”

Phab relies entirely on grants, voluntary donations and fundraising to make these very special projects available to those who need them most.
