We support those affected by the 'Troubles' to address the past & move forward
Story
Wave Trauma centre is a grass roots, cross community charity offering care and support to people bereaved, injured and traumatised as a result of "The Troubles" in Northern Ireland; irrespective of religious, cultural or political beliefs.
To help raise money for an excellent charity I have agreed (convinced) to take part in WAVE’s Strictly Come Dancing event.
Every Sunday we will be attending a 2 hour dance lesson as well as practice sessions, over three months, to help prepare for a Strictly come dancing competition in April.
The dance off will be at the Clayton Hotel, Ormeau Avenue on Saturday 9th April 2016 where Tim McGarry will be the host for the evening which will also include a musical interlude with Belfast’s funniest woman with a harp, Ms Ursula Burns. As much as I hate to say this, the more of you that can make it on the night the better as this will help to raise additional funds for this worthy cause ( & get to see myself making a fool of myself is definitely worth the ticket price)!
For those of you who know me this is taking me right out of my comfort zone for a number of reasons, I can’t dance, I have two left feet, I lack coordination and my memory isn’t the best. I have also attended A&E a number of times for dancing related injuries (mainly Dirty dancing re-enactments and drunken Irish dancing)
So I would be grateful if you could help support both myself and WAVE by sponsoring me to take part in this event. I will share photos and videos from our rehearsals, as well as from the night itself and I plan to give updates on how we are progressing which no doubt keep you all amused.
So please, dig deep, be generous & make a donation in support of WAVE! Thank you!
