Story
I started this journey of fund raising when I was invited to Rwanda to help with a charity , Solace Ministries UK an arm of Solace Ministries in Rwanda. I was totally blown away by the experiences of many of the survivors , mainly women , of the genocide . I saw elderly women in their 70's and 80's walking for miles just to get to market or to the next village; children orphaned , desolate and the extent of poverty was heart breaking . Despite their circumstances I was in awe of the hospitality , love I received , it put life into prospective. I decided I wanted to raise money , perhaps for a bus so the elderly women could get from A to B or just to fund a child's education or help with a building project. In the end I decided I'd just raise money , become a fund raiser and the funds could be used where there was a need . I used to rock climb ( not very well) , I'm also learning to roller skate and in 2015 I will run my 3rd marathon. It just goes to show what activities great or small you can participate in to raise funds.
