Story
After vowing to never ever run a half marathon ever again i've decided to dust down the running shoes one more time to run the Chesterfield Half Marathon to raise money for the Neo Natal Unit at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Born 10 weeks early at Jessops in Sheffield, my twins Archie and Millie were quickly transferred to Chesterfield and the team there cared for them day and night over the following months to make sure they came home happy and healthy.
Not only were the team amazing with Archie and Millie, they were amazing with mum and dad, who as you can imagine as first time parents were rather fraught at times. They put us at ease constantly and helped to guide us through the minefield that is caring for premature twins. Every member of staff there is incredible at their job.
In the unit parents can room in for a few nights before taking babies home to make sure they can ask any questions etc and I really want to raise some money to provide further facilities such as this for the unit as there was only one sofa bed with old donated blankets etc - so to make future new parents a little more comfortable at such a hectic time I'd like to help fund upgrading that room somewhat.
