At the beginning of the year, I lost my Aunty Susan when she died suddenly due to a aneurysm; which caused a catastrophic bleed on the brain. This caused blood vessels to burst and the vessels and veins to weaken due to high blood pressure. There was little warning before this incident occurred, it was very sudden. She was only 55 years old.
Susan's husband Donovan, has suggested donations in place of flowers to Blood Pressure UK, will be kindly and gently received at this very difficult time. So on behalf of our family and friends I wanted to raise money for the national charity Blood Pressure UK to educate and raise awareness about the seriousness of the disease and to help the many sufferers of the disease monitor their symptoms and stay healthy.
Every penny raised for Blood Pressure UK counts. They rely on voluntary donations to carry out our work.
Blood Pressure UK aim to reduce the number of people affected directly by preventable death and disability from heart disease, heart attacks and stroke caused by high blood pressure.

What your donation will allow Blood Pressure UK to provide:
- £50 Lets Blood Pressure UK send a free information pack to 20 people worried about their blood pressure
- £5 Allows Blood Pressure UK to respond to an email enquirer concerned about hypertension
- £10 Enables Blood Pressure UK to provide follow up information for 1 person who has been found to have high blood pressure and other risk factors linked to having a heart attack or stroke
- £25 Allows Blood Pressure UK to provide a nurse with 40 information leaflets to distribute to patients
- £150 Supports the Blood Pressure UK Information Line for a day
- £100 Covers the costs of vascular screening 3 people out in the community, enabling Blood Pressure UK to potentially identify those who are at risk of having a heart attack or stroke
- £200 Pays for an expert advice and support email to be sent to the Blood Pressure UK database of people concerned about their blood pressure.
