Story
As you all know our little Cupcake was born at 32 weeks and she spent her first month in the Neonatal unit. We were so lucky that Evelyn only had to spend her first month there while some of the other babies has been there for such a long time. It's so hard seeing your little on in a incubator and not been able to hold them and give them all the love, hugs and kisses you have been dying to give them since you found out your expecting. Everyone has the idea of going into hospital to have your baby and then a few days later taking your baby home for the first time, it's so hard for all parents to leaving there baby every night to come home to your baby proofed house and not have them there with you. The staff in the unit were fantastic and always on hand to answer any questions on how each little one was doing or what they were going to do to help you give that first bottle. When we got the news we were able to bring Evelyn home we were ecstatic and so overjoyed. Sean was proud as punch to carry our little Cupcake out of the hospital to take her home, we never got the chance to say a HUGE Thank You to the team for everything they have done for us in that first month and hopefully raising money for the team is just a small thank you for the AMAZING work they do on a daily basis.
The 2nd department that I would like to raise money for is the SRH Diabetes team. I have been a diabetic since 1998 and have had amazing support from the diabetic team. I finally have been given a diabetic pump after years of working closely with the team. Throughout my pregnancy I visited the team on a weekly basis and become close to nurses. I was lucky enough to trail the new diabetic Libre blood glucose machine and it was fantastic I would like to raise the team to say a MASSIVE Thank you for all there help and support and hopefully the money I raise will help fund someone who is wanting to keep there diabetes on track.
Any spare change would be greatly appreciated to help these two amazing departments who have helped me and my family massively. I'm not a strong runner... I struggle to run a bath but getting to the finish line will be an amazing achievement for a Type 1 diabetic's first marathon.
Thank you in advance.
