Story
2015 Update: In light of the
recent tragedy in Nepal on April 25 2015, we have revived the Justgiving page
to channel your support to the children directly. With several thousands dead
and many more injured or missing, we will do whatever we can to make your
donation count; we have no overhead costs. Thank you for your support!
Background
The Ashah Orphanage Home was founded in 1999 to support homeless women and
children in the Kathmandu area (with Ashah meaning "hope" in
Nepalese). Many of the kids would have lived without parents or a place to stay
for several months, if not years, but have now found a home and a
future with our support. The organisation recently accommodated a further 10
new little girls, and expanded to assist these children who range from ages
4-12 by providing food, clothing, housing, education, and medical cover through
to adulthood.
The UK-based Asha Foundation (not related) ;have kindly agreed to receive
donations into their account JustGiving towards our own endeavor and will
receive a small percentage of donations towards their own cause as thanks. To
earn your support, my colleagues and I are partaking in various fundraising
initiatives as you may have been directed here accordingly. Any form of
contribution will be greatly appreciated and I'll personally ensure it will be
used only for the cause itself being involved in the management of the entity.
Please donate via this website.
Thank you all in advance for your support.
