Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year, my good friend Elizabeth Whiter, who's wonderful horses I ride, proposed that I go with her to Mongolia - to visit a very remote village and find out about their way of life.
Needing some adventure as I turned 40 – I agreed!
So we're off in August - to trekk a long long way, on horseback!
Now, my colleague, Ashley Peatfield, runs an amazing charity in Kenya – and I'm really hoping you'll sponsor me in my trek across Mongolia, to raise funds for his charity, the Funze and Bodo Trust.
The Trust has existed for just five years and works in two very poor fishing villages. People still live in mud huts with no running water, toilets and often do not have enough food.
In the the short time the charity has existed it has rebuilt two schools, opened two libraries, a computer training centre and runs two clinics.
It pays for operations for very sick and very poor people and provides cataract treatments and free glasses.
It is just completing a birthing room where women can have their babies safely.
It does not employ any staff in the UK to ensure all the money raised gets to Africa where it is most needed.
I want to help the charity buy a new ambulance which will make sure emergency cases can reach a hospital and save lives.
I'm hoping our endeavours will help raise much needed money for Funze and would love it if you could help.
