Story
B2Sea - Bedford to the Sea
WHO: We are two Bedford School boys, Sebastian (14) and Max (12) who will be raising money for Bedford Daycare Hospice by rowing on the Great Ouse from Bedford to King’s Lynn and The Wash. We’ll be helped out by two adults, Star Club rower David Sogan and Ian Rowe, ocean rower and owner of Atlantic Experience.
WHAT: Our trip is a 72 mile (116 km) row with 18 locks to navigate. It will take about three days and two nights to complete aboard Ian’s rebuilt ocean rowing boat “Lisa Too”, which is the (renamed) boat used by double Olympic rowing champion James Cracknell and TV adventurer Ben Fogle to win the 2005 Atlantic Rowing Race.
WHY: Bedford Daycare Hospice is a charity for adults with life threatening illnesses in North and Mid-Bedfordshire offering free specialist support from diagnosis to treatment through to remission or palliative care. It relies on local people for financial support to ensure it can carry on its work for local people like Suzanne Sharp who has used the hospice, has strong links with Star Club and is giving us her full support.
WHERE: From Star Club in Bedford to The Wash.
WHEN: 25th October 2015 starting at 11am.
