At this time of year we don't have the opportunity of attending dog shows, summer fairs, street events - nor do people run marathons, climb mountains or take part in sponsored swims - but this is the most expensive time of year in rescue.

Not only are the bills more expensive - heat, light, power - but the pre Christmas dump of dogs begins followed by the post-Christmas dump of young pups - so not only are the bills higher but resources in great demand too.

We also try to make sure that despite being in kennels, all the dogs get a Christmas Dinner, a stocking with a toy and some chews and a new fleecy blanket for their beds. We are also hoping this year to buy some new beds that are raised off the ground to try and make it more comfortable and cosier in kennels.

We appreciate every single penny that is donated, and NONE of your money goes towards salary bills or office rent or television advertising - the money you donate to FFH is used specifically and exclusively for the benefit of dogs in need to ensure that until we find their Furever Home they are as happy as they can be - well fed, warm and safe over Winter.
