Story
The British Stammering Association (BSA) continues to work to provide information and support to help the 750,000 children and adults in the UK who are directly affected by stammering.
As part of this service, BSA provides an Education helpline which provides tailored support to help parents, teachers and speech and language therapists do their best to help children who stammer throughout their education and beyond.
This line often receives calls from worried parents, who are at points of crisis and do not know where to turn to to access information to help their children who stammers thrive throughout their education. We are here to help.
“We were absolutely terrified when our daughter, didn’t get a place at the local primary school with the rest of her friends – we knew that going to a different school and not knowing anyone would be very difficult for her.
I spoke to Cherry Hughes, who gave us all the information we needed to help us appeal the placement. We did it and now we’re so happy that our daughter will be surrounded by familiar faces when she starts school!” – K
This is just one of our services that makes a lasting difference in the lives of all those affected by stammering. Please consider giving a little this Christmas to help us continue this important work.
