Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On May 7th 2013 Our baby George was born prematurely at 25 Weeks. I was rushed into Hackney Hospital with very little time on our hands and our baby George was born fighting for his life weighing 2lb 2 ounces. He was placed in an incubator in NICU where he began fighting.
Minutes seemed like hours and Hours seemed liked days, with an roller coaster of feedback from the doctors about George's health throughout the days he spent in NICU. The nurses and Doctors were very patient with us as we had never been in an environment like this before, with all the beeps and alarms going off around us and different equipment and terminology.
Georges health began to deteriorate and sadly he passed away on the 27th of May leaving myself and Clark broken hearted.
Despite George passing away, the hospital provided us with ongoing support and advice that we desperately needed. Amazingly a year later, Homerton help us to deliver a healthy and beautiful baby boy, Harry.
As every parent knows preparing for your new born to enter the world is scary enough. Having a child born prematurely with the high possibility of many health issues and their future unknown brings endless worries and concern. With the biggest thanks to Homerton Hospital "Homerton Hope" we were given the biggest support around us ensuring we were not the only ones in this world struggling and there was Hope for the future.
So far we have raised a fantastic £7000 this money has gone towards buying various equipment in the Intensive care units and help pay towards Nurse training at Homerton.
In loving memory of George, we aim to raise this money again this year. On behalf of Homerton Hospital, future families, Clark and I would like to thank you all in advance. His Greatest Gift he leaves with us is by giving Hope to other Premature babies like himself.
