Thank you for joining us at the celebation of our joint 100th Birthday!  We wanted to find a theme for our party that has real meaning to us, and we feel "Out of Africa" captures that well.  Africa has always been a special place for us -- Sarah's parents met there, we spent our honeymoon there, and we have been back to visit several times since.  Our latest trip last summer was to track the critically endangered Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda and Uganda -- a truly amazing experience!  However, there are only around 800 of these magnificant primates left, and the local communities working hard to save them really need our help.

Could we ask that you do not bring presents, flowers, chocolates, wine or any of the other lovely things that friends tend to bring to birthday parties. If you really wish to give us something then we would prefer that you make some small contribution to help save the gorillas.
