We tackle alcohol and drug addiction to save and change lives

Story

Hi. My name is Barry and I'm an alcoholic. Today, I am 9 years clean and sober. This year has been the toughest I have faced, but I am proud to say the addict in me didn't win.

Today I am setting my family, friends, colleagues, strangers and the world to join me in 'Baz's Challenge 10'.
We have 1 year to raise as much money as possible to go to a worthy cause, Cranstoun. This is a charity run service that has one of its bases in Portsmouth. It is this service that helped turn my life around and start my road to recovery. Check out their website www.cranstoun.org to see all that they do.
I have challenged myself to first and foremost not pick up a drink and secondly I have entered the South Coast Challenge. A 100km run/jog starting at Beachy Head in Eastbourne and finishing at Arundel Cathedral on 26th/27th Aug 2017.
All I ask of you is to challenge yourself to do something you know will be tough, e.g. A 10 mile walk, race, or bike ride, 10 weeks of no alcohol, something to challenge using the number 10, something you never dreamed you would do. It does not have to be exercise related. For example, my niece is giving up crisps for a 10 week period. Believe me - this will challenge her!
If each challenge could come with a £10 donation to my Just Giving page or whatever you can afford. I am inspired everyday by the people i know or meet that help me on my journey of recovery and I know this challenge is the focus and drive I need to get me to 10 years. If everyone who reads this can make a donation, they will be helping me support others in need. If you can fund raise while doing your challenge - even better!
Please, please, please share this with everyone you know. Let's get this fundraising to reach as many people as we can.
Even if you don't think its for you, please donate and SHARE SHARE SHARE.
Thank you to each and everyone of you for your continued support, to my husband Deamonn who never makes me feel like my struggles are not real, my absolute rock in life ❤️
