Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are organising a tandem bungee jump and will post the date as soon as it is confirmed and booked. In the meantime please help us raise as much as we can for this amazing charity, £50 will fund The Sanctuary (a 24-hour mental health crisis support for adults who are experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, depression, suicidal thoughts or are in crisis. The Sanctuary offers a space to talk and assists with coping after the initial crisis) to support someone at breaking point, so my aim is to help at least one person.

I thought a bungee jump would be a fitting way to raise money because if you can imagine how anxious and nervous you would be to jump off a 160ft crane and have that sick feeling in your stomach as you look over the edge, you can empathise a little with what it's like to have a panic attack. That feeling... x10... adrenaline rushing through your body for no apparent reason... every day... it sucks.

Both me and Amelia have first hand experience in this area so decided to do this together, Amelia wants to raise money for Guide dogs UK so her JustGiving page is: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Amelia-Bower1?utm_id=13

I decided to raise money for SelfHelp Services as about 2/3 years ago now I suffered from panic attacks pretty bad (I still have them to this day) but thanks to this amazing organisation I got the help I needed and they picked me up from a pretty dark place at the time. I received free one to one Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, which is only one of the many support services they offer. They not only help people with anxiety and panic attacks but depression and all mental health issues. I know quite a lot of people that have been affected by one of these in their time, and some close family and friends, so I thought I would do my bit to help. If I can at least get one person to go to this organisation and get the help I received I will be happy!
