Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are raising money with the Wessex Cancer trust to help Becks and Dave Bartlett and their two young girls.  Becks was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and is currently in hospital having chemotherapy.

Having never spent a night away from either of the girls (Poppy age 2 years and Florence just 7 months old at the time) Becks can now only spend limited time with them and her husband.  This has been heart breaking for them all and extremely hard work for Dave who juggles childcare, running the house, a full time job and visiting Becks.

The last four months have been unimaginably difficult for the family as Becks has spent the majority of the time in hospital having chemotherapy and has, at times, been seriously unwell.   Having initially been told that her cancer was terminal they are immensely relieved that despite the unavoidable side effects chemotherapy offers a potential cure.

Everyone we speak to desperately wants to do something positive to help Becks and Dave and their girls.  They are not the kind of people to ever ask for help.  This is why we have set up this fundraising page so we can help support them by taking some of financial strain caused by reduced income and a sudden need for childcare. 

They all are coping amazingly well and with the support of family and friends for childcare but would really benefit from having a nanny. Dave has been able to go back to work with reduced hours, but he needs protected time to spend with his wife and daughters. If sufficient funds could be raised they would be able to employ a part time nanny for the girls which would provide essential consistency for them and help run the house, relieving Dave and the family to care for Becks over the next few crucial months. Every £10 donated buys an extra valuable hour of childcare.

Becks and Dave are two of the most kind, caring people I know, so please let’s show them how much we care and support them at this difficult time. Any extra funds will be used by Wessex Cancer trust, to benefit other cancer patients.
