Story
A number of years ago my wife, Mo, went to a district in Zambia called Serenje with friends. Our church, Kerith Community church, Bracknell was involved, in partnership with Tearfund helping to tackle HIV and Aids in that area.
Whilst there Mo was introduced to the deputy headmistress
of one of the local schools who mentioned her dream to have a classroom specifically for special needs children. Mo felt God saying “you can help” Mo had worked with special needs children in our church for a number of years.
Mo started raising money but then was diagnosed with Myeloma and is at present receiving second stage chemotherapy. One of the original friends with whom Mo went to Zambia suggested to me that he and I should cycle and that I could raise the money through sponsorship.
We shall leave Basle using Eurovelo 6, via the Rhine and Rhone canal, the river Doubs and the river Loire. We will follow Eurovelo 6 until we reach Villandry. Then we will cycle pretty much due south to reach my friend’s home near Melle. Total length of the ride will be 1130 Kms or
706 miles, we start on April 8th. We shall be paying for all the accommodation and sustenance ourselves and will have no supporting vehicles.
At 76 years of age it is a bit of a challenge for me but I want to help Mo fulfil her desire to enable the school in Serenje to get the appropriate
equipment.
I will ride please will you sponsor me?
