Story
We're trying help a local Cricket Club in rural Norfolk be the first club to join the local league in many years. Although the Club was first founded in the 1960s, it died out as players left the area. In 2010, we decided to resurrect it with a view to it becoming a sporting and social hub for the Community.
After loads of work, we've got a cracking pitch, built nets, got the right machinery to tend our wicket, and brought in new players.
However, the Club has to have a pavilion to join the league, and currently we're about £11,000 short of what we need to get it built.
We (my long-suffering other half and I) are trying to help meet the fundraising target by walking an ancient road called the Peddars Way. Our route is about 50 miles long and runs through the Fens to the Norfolk Coast past many of the clubs that we play friendlies against.
Our aim is to do this in three days and we might even be persuaded to do accept challenges to keep us (and possibly others) entertained on our travels. Just mention them when you donate, and we'll see what we can do!
