S.O.S Canoe Challenge
Fundraising for Support Our Soldiers
Story
HELLO!
Early, on the morning of February the 1 I plan to start my fundraising event.
I wish to raise £3000 + for the charity Support Our Solders, S.O.S. www.supportoursoldiers.co.uk
I am canoeing solo some 154 miles of the river Severn and plan to start at pool quay Welshpool and finish at Sharpness, this is a journey that should take around 4 days to complete.
I am doing this, firstly show my huge appreciation towards our service men & women and to raise money for the charity S.O.S so they can keep making the morale-boosting efforts they do to all our soldiers. They really do make a big difference; and secondly, my inspiring young brothers Pte Thomas Moody of 2 Mercian, currently on his second tour of afghan and Pte Joshua Moody, also of 2 Mercian, currently awaiting a specialist knee opp as the first was unsuccessful.
I, myself, am currently waiting for a selection date as I am joining the Royal Signals to work in comms and Intel.
I wish for us Brits to be proud of our soldiers, honoured to know them and touched by their heroism, bravery and professionalism as soldiers doing their jobs, following orders, and dying.... all to protect us, our proud country and its interests.
Please help me, help them, they're out there trying to help us!
