Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In March 2012 I will be trekking through the Mountains of Eilat in the Negev desert in Israel to raise much needed funds for the JNF.
The terrain is challenging as you can see from the photos on my page showing last year's event. The walk is over 5 days with a distance of around 15km per day. But I've started doing some training, so I'll be well prepared!
The money raised from Walk for Water 2012 is to develop water projects in the Negev desert and fight against water shortages. With your help JNF can continue with their aim to turn the desert green and make it somewhere people want to live, rather than have to live.
Since the establishment of the JNF over 110 years ago, it has been developing the Land of Israel. The 21st century challenge is to turn the Negev green and change the desert landscape.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
My target is £2,500!! (I've just raised it from £2,000). So please see if you are able to sponsor me on my walk and support these worthwhile projects.
Thank you so much
Bernard
