Story

Tony and I along with our dear friends Ursula Clarke, Rob and Alison Evans are raising money to support the dedicated hard work of all staff at The Yorkshire Centre For Eating Disorders Charity Number (1051514), Newsome Centre, Seacroft Hospital, Leeds.

A member of my family has suffered from severe and debilitating Anorexia for nearly ten years and has twice spent several months receiving residential treatment on the dedicated Ward 6 at Seacroft Hospital in Leeds.  Eating disorders are very complex and it is extremely difficult to treat this group of mental illnesses.  Funding is limited for the treatment of eating disorders and is insufficient to deal with the demand of people wanting help which often means they have to wait many months before they can secure a place on a specialist unit and more often than not, they can reach a dangerously low BMI that can result in them either being tube fed in their local hospital or when they are accepted on the ward.

We are taking part in the Yorkshire Warriors on Saturday, 30th April 2016, in Harrogate to say a HUGE thank you to all the staff on Ward 6 by raising funds for this very worthy cause and one which is very close to our hearts.  Any donations, no matter how small would be greatly received.
