We help blind and partially sighted people to break down the barriers of sight loss

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Bidwells Project Management Team are attempting to walk up Mount Helvellyn in the Lake District with an added challenge... for sections of our walk we will be partially sighted!

We will be wearing spectacles which simulate eye conditions such as tunnel vision, cataracts and macular degeneration.  We will experience first-hand what it is really like to try and overcome an uncertain environment whilst visually impaired, and also take it in turns to experience being a guide to a visually impaired person.

Our aim is to raise £4,500 to convert three talking children's books  into formats for visually impaired children.   Each of these formatted books costs £1,500.  A huge majority of books have not yet been converted and aren't accessible. These books massively help children with the feeling of isolation and loneliness that living with sight loss can give.
