Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our Giving Tuesday 2014 page.

The Big Issue in the North Trust is a registered charity (no. 1056041) which helps vendors of the magazine. With your donation we can provide a one-to-one support worker to help the sellers of The Big Issue in the North reach the goals they set themselves – whether that’s finding somewhere to live, getting back into work, improving their health or learning English, for example.

December 2nd 2014 is #GivingTuesday in many countries of the world, including the UK for the first year. It was founded in the US as an antidote to the days of mass consumerism like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which encourage people to shop. Giving Tuesday on the other hand is a Global Day of Generosity.

The Big Issue in the North Trust is lucky to have support from individuals like poet Ian McMillan and photographer Darren Hargreaves, Yorkshire band Egokiller, football club FC United of Manchester and business SUMA who have all given time, talent, opportunities and goods (head to @bigissuenorth on Twitter or The Big Issue in the North Trust on Facebook to find out more throughout the day on 2/12/14).

Now it's your turn. We are grateful for any donation which enables to continue the work we do with the vendors of The Big Issue in the North magazine.

Thank you.
