Story
On Saturday night at our North Lincolnshire centre in Broughton, a St Bernard was tied to our front gates. In the dark, alone and very frightened.
Our onsite staff spotted her and brought her inside, realising what a mess this girl was in. Not only was her coat completely matted and desperately uncomfortable for her but we later discovered she was also suffering from pyometra (a potentially killer condition in female dogs).
We rushed her to our vets and she has undergone over £700 worth of veterinary treatment so far since Saturday.
Most of her matts in her coat have had to be shaved away to free her skin, and her eyes are desperately sore and full of discharge.
She was found to be microchipped - her name is Sadie and she is 8 years old. The vets she was registered at had been told she had died in 2008, and her owners details are now out of date.
We call her Big Sadie as she's such a big girl, with a big heart to match. She's trusted us to keep her safe and we will endeavour to get her back to good health and find her the safe and loving home she deserves.
We are appealing once again to our supporters for help for Big Sadie. If you can spare even £1towards Sadie's care - every little adds up and will really help us to support Sadie.
Thank you xx
