I am running the Virgin London Marathon in April to raise money for a charity that is very close to my heart. The thought of any elderly person alone makes me so sad. I am one of those people that always befriends elderly people in the street, helps their carry shopping home etc. Independent age provides a volunteer service to reduce isolation among the elderly. Imagine making someones day buy just having a chat and a cup of tea or going for a nice walk. My grandmother was lucky enough to have me and when she passed away last year I always said I would try and make some kind of difference and help others who are less fortunate. So please find it in your hearts to support me and smash this target!!
