Story
In 2010 I done some work for a charity Lionsraw in South Africa. I have been asked to return in October this year to help them build 3 extra classrooms on a school the charity built back in 2010. I agreed to go but I also said I would sponsor one of the classrooms. This is at a cost of 3000.00. From now until October , every damp job we do , I will donate 5 percent profit from each damp job to raise the cost of the classroom. So all I'm asking for referrals for damp jobs to help me raise the cash. I have set this page up so people can see our progress in raising the money we need. If you would like to donate that would be great
The charity Lionsraw have built 5 classrooms to date with 3 more to be added in April. The school has 402 children being educated. In October a group of about 20 of us will build 3 more classrooms in 2 weeks allowing a further 350 children to be educated.
Kwa Ximba near Durban is one of the poorest and most highly effected HIV areas in the world. The majority of children are orphans and have no access to schooling it is our aim to make change in their lives through education.
When we originally built the school the children suffered from poor concentration levels due to hunger so we put in place a feeding programme. All 402 children are fed each day at school and it is our intention to do the same for the 350 children who want to be educated. Our fundraising will be used on the project costs and if we raise more or have any surplus then it will be used on the feeding programme.
This is an excellent legacy project that has been going for the last 6 years and offers these children an oportunity to change their lives and also be fed on a daily basis for the majority eating at the school will be their only food. Your kind donation over the years will lead to thousands of children being educated and fed offering them hope in an area in the world where there is very little hope.
