Story
As the cold nights begin to set in, I lie in my nice warm bed and think of all the people around me that are lying on their cold mud floors trying to get warm. I lie and think about the people I know, the people I love and my heart aches for them.
Many people only have each other or a piece of cloth to keep warm. Chikhwawa is hot for most of the year but in these winter months the cold seems to reach right down to the bones, especially if you are cold through the night.
The cost of a blanket is only 5 pounds! Still it is too much money for those who live around us, when food is their priority. Over the years we have helped many people with blankets, even our own staff! The kids too have enjoyed receiving their blankets and just this week I was able to give blankets to all our babies.
God has laid this on my heart. Are you able to help with one blanket? Or even 2? Or maybe you could be a Hope Village champion and get your church or your workplace behind you.
My desire, my goal, is to give out 200 blankets this year. If you can help please do, it is not much to you or I but it will mean so much to the person who receives it. A true gift of love.
Thank you.
