Story
Our aim is to raise as much money as possible for the ‘Friends of the Leeds Centre for Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma’.
You probably haven’t heard of ‘Friends of the Leeds Centre for Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma’.
Since 2008 the ‘Friends’ have continued to support a wide range of equipment in the “state of the art”– Institute of Oncology [Bexley Wing] at St. James’ Hospital. . Leeds' outstanding contribution was recognised by the recent award of Centre of Excellence status by Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. We now need to ensure that in creating a world class centre we are able to provide the best possible equipment and facilities, both for patients and in the laboratories, with the added “extras” that have been so important in the past. The medical and nursing team needs our support to help them help their patients. So much has been done and we are on the threshold of an exciting new era with a real prospect of curative treatment for many.
One project they are hoping to achieve is access to Wi-Fi and reduced
TV costs. All of which are incredibly important when faced with a
lengthy stay in hospital.
