I AM DOING THIS SPONSORED WALK TO HELP RAISE THE £25000 NEEDED TO FINISH THE BUILDING OF THE MATERNITY UNIT IN NEBBI UGANDA.

Sixteen women die every day giving birth in Uganda. That is nearly 6000 a year. Around 40% of under five death are newborn and sadly the vast majority occur within a few dates of life.

Sharon Oliver of Eagles Wings moved by the plight of the women of Nebbi took a decision to build them a clinic. I, like many others have been moved to do something to help achieve this vision. Sharon' promise is nearly fulfilled and the clinic is almost bult.

BUT an additional £25.000 to complete the bulding, buy basic equipments and have it staffed with qualified midwives is required to do this.

This is is were YOU come in. These women need our help, they are not asking for a 'handout out' BUT a 'hand up' and they are desperate to do whatever is required of themselves to make a difference to their own community.
