Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Homer a 10 1/2 year old bulldog who spent the majority of his life living in a cold dark garage he had become blind through neglect, living in the dark and untreated eye infections left him toatally unable to see. His eyes became dry and covered in a thick white film full of irritating rubbish , his teeth were rotten to the point he couldn't eat even if he was offered any food. The poison from the infection was leaving him on a slow and painfull road to death. His nails that had over grown into his pads so he was unable to walk, on his back legs his muscles had started to waste. At some point Homers knees had dislocated and were never treated so he as spent many years managing on dislocated knees.
He was picked up by BDR and lived life in permanant foster care. His life excpectancy was just weeks , however surgery removed the majority of his teeth and medication cleared some of the infection , and with
constant care he regained some sight. He was living life to the full for six months.
Here was a Bulldog that never gave up and waited until the wonderful Mel and Keith took him in.
It was November 2013 that I met Homer, it was the first year of the Xmas ShoeBoxes. I made him a Special Box and took it to him early.
No one thought he would live to Xmas Day.
So this walk is 40km in one day.
Homer never gave up and we must not give up either.
I did this walk last year and it is a VERY hard days walk.
It is no walk in the Park!!
