Story
My husband Brian and I would have been celebrating our 33rd Wedding Anniversary in September 09. We have 2 children Caitriona now married to Austy, and Kevin now married to Julieann. They have blessed us with 4 beautiful grandchildren, Connor, Stephen, Aine and little Bronagh. Brian was so proud of his family and we all miss him dearly.
Before his illness, Brian led a very full life. In his job he advised hundreds of people on claiming their rightful
benefits and helped disabled people get back into the workforce. He played the drums and sang with various groups entertaining people from his early teens, he even played at charity events for the very same hospice he spent his last days in. Brian was an avid golfer making some long term friends there, his skills won him many golf prizes over the years. His main passion was for Armagh GAA enjoying many years supporting them.
We were devastated when Brian was diagnosed with Cancer, but he fought hard and kept going for 2 1/2 years. He spent his last few weeks in the Hospice were he was made to feel very special by the caring staff. Our family are eternally grateful to them.
Brian once said that, had he been a millionaire he would not be receiving any better treatment and care. Thanks to the SAHS hospice staff he died, peacefully with dignity and his family around him.
Dearly Missed But Never Forgotten - Brian Fox 18/02/1946 to 22nd May 2009 RIP
With a fundraising target of £1.9 million a year, SAHS need to raise £200 every single hour to help people affected by terminal illness. All services are provided free of charge to patients and their families. The hospice depends on 70% of its finance from fundraising, thus the reason I set this up to try to help in Memory of my lovely Brian.
