We fund research into spinal cord injury to find a cure for spinal injury paralysis

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

John and Angela Pye became involved with nsif (Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation) after their elder son, Steven, contracted a virus on his spine when aged just 15, in 2007.

This left Steven paralysed from the chest down and despite being told that he would never walk again, due to his tireless determination and commitment to recovery, he is now able to walk with the aid of walking sticks and is looking forward to the day when he hopes, once again, to be able to walk unaided.

Our fund raising in support of nsif will help to continue the research in to a cure for spinal cord injury which has already seen a massive breakthrough as featured on a recent Panorama special report - "To walk again" - where a previously paralysed man has had his mobility restored to a significant extent and continues to show improvement.
