Story
Thank you for taking the time to read this. We hope that our wedding on Saturday 27th of August 2016 will be one of the happiest days of our lives. We also hope that it will be a fantastic day for our friends and family who are able to join us to celebrate. As we have been lucky enough to be able to already setup home together, it would mean a lot to both of us that anyone wishing to give a gift do so to the Cambodian Children’s Fund as a gift of celebration. We really do feel lucky to have such a wonderful group of friends along with both our families and we feel as though this is the least we can do to show our appreciation to the places and things that have played a role in our lives.
Having been to Cambodia and having a sister (in-law), that is now all but Khamer, we have seen a little of how this country has pulled its-self from the desperate days of the 1970’s. It’s fair to say that there is still work to do but given the multiple tragic events over relatively recent times the progress driven by its people is not only positive but done so with such a sense of humanity and with a smile. The Cambodian Children’s Fund exemplify this with its work to help the most impoverished children. Their help enables those children to become tomorrow’s leaders by delivering education, family support and community programs. With education as one of its core values we feel as though this charity resonates well with both our experiences, our values and even our families’ heritage and current vocations. Examples of how donations will be used are below.
- £50 medication for a year
- £25 teacher for a week
- £20 food for a week
Your donation, small or large, will really make a difference to children who desperately need it. Who knows, you could help make a future leader of the country!
